Originally funded through The Careers & Enterprise Company, Get Career Confident is a careers education programme delivering one-to-one personal guidance to learners across Sussex via trained advisors. The project aims to improve the quality and quantity of personal guidance that young learners receive, to raise awareness of progression and careers opportunities across the region, and to support learners to make informed decisions about their futures. Over the last year, more than 1,200 young people received a one-to-one information advice and guidance interview, and a social media campaign engaged some 15,000 learners as well as parents and teachers.

Over the next academic year, GCC will offer intensive support to Uni Connect schools in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex under the banner of Get Career Confident Connect. It will also support schools with a programme of online advice and guidance, and digital resources developed for use in school and at home. Teachers and advisors can also benefit by taking part in GCC’s programme of continuing professional development.
