Family, Friends and Travellers Education Awareness Project
Empowering GTRSB young people to decide on their future and supporting them on their journey
The project worked with five Sussex schools and colleges with the main aim of raising awareness among Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boater (GTRSB) students of the post-16 options open to them, to improve access and to boost their confidence. To achieve this charity Family, Friends and Travellers delivered a bespoke Young Health Champion qualification to offer students the chance to gain a sense of attainment, improve their own health and that of their communities, as well as running aspiration workshops to boost students’ confidence and provide a sense of attainment, and encouraged schools to ensure that GTRSB culture was well represented within their environments
