Careers beyond Covid Project
Supporting people (aged 16-30) back into work post-pandemic
The Careers beyond Covid project (CBC) was set up in response to the growing inequality of opportunities resulting from the pandemic. It aims to improve social mobility over the coming years by providing good quality careers guidance, employability training and reskilling.
CBC is available to people aged 16 to 30, with a main focus from spring/summer 2022 on the 18-24 and 24-30 age groups who are either inactive or unemployed. From autumn 2022, it will concentrate on engaging and supporting young people furthest from the labour market including those who are BAME, single parents or have disabilities. It aims to connect them with employers across the Coast to Capital LEP area.
A partnership between SLN and social enterprise Elev8Careers, the project will run across the Coast to Capital area until December 2023, with the aim of engaging some 650 young people and supporting 170 into work or self-employment.
Duration: September 2021 to December 2023
