SLN:Uni Connect ensures that parental engagement is included in all schools’ plans for working with target students. It also works, where possible, with community groups to ensure that parents and carers are included in outreach and that their voices and opinions are heard.

The partnership runs a university parent ambassador programme which enables parents supporting children at university to share their insights with other parents in their schools and communities. The ambassadors also attend events and activities at universities and FE colleges to provide peer-to-peer support to parents and carers who may have anxieties about their children going on to higher education.
