Around 29 per cent of young carers drop out of their degree courses, a figure four times higher than average, which may be down to issues such as juggling caring responsibilities and studying, financial problems, lack of time and support. Our projects aim to increase the number of young carers entering and remaining in higher education by listening to their needs and collaborating with local partners to provide the practical and emotional support they need.
