Throughout the year, we provide free CPD sessions to help you enhance your professional skills, so that you can support learners in imaginative new ways...
This year all our CPD sessions will be online to enable colleagues to take part without having to factor in travel time and costs. You can discover our full calendar of upcoming events here, but in the meantime here are a few upcoming highlights to whet your appetite!
Unconscious Bias Conscious Inclusion
Who can attend: All staff in schools and colleges
Time and date: Booked individually with schools and colleges
Course run time: 2 hours
If you’re wanting to learn more about unconscious bias and wanting to promote conscious inclusion, you can book a dedicated session for your school or college to find out how you can better support learners throughout your learning environment.
BAME Insights programme for schools
Who can attend: Uni Connect leaders and teachers
Time and date: Three meetings with all schools plus two individual meetings with facilitators to focus on tailored work in your school
Course run time: 1.5 hours per session
This is a truly unique opportunity – a year-long programme of learning, insights and practical strategies that will help you undertake a full school audit and develop a clear action plan to promote positive change in your learning environment. Schools that have undertaken the programme so far have called it ‘truly transformative’.
We’re looking for five schools in total to be involved this year. To be considered your team must be committed to the aims of the programme and able to participate in all five sessions throughout the academic year.
We’re also running a similar programme for up to three Sixth Form colleges.
Parental Engagement
Who can attend: All staff
Time and date: 22nd March 2022
Course run time: 1 hour
During this invaluable workshop you’ll hear from guest speakers, comms experts and parents and carers themselves – all giving hints, tips and strategies for increasing parental engagement and for making that engagement more useful, valued and strategic.
We also have sessions planned on supporting learners with care experience, supporting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) learners and supporting young carers. So why not grab a coffee and join your colleagues across the county to discover a wealth of new ways to promote more inclusive learning environments with practical and imaginative new resources and strategies…
