European funding secured to support class of 2020
We’re delighted to have secured funding from the European Social Fund to deliver an important new skills and employability programme – Careers Beyond Covid.
The Careers Beyond Covid programme will support young people aged 16-30 who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic to attain vital employability skills, access work experience and ultimately secure employment.
The programme will support 650+ young people over the next two years and provides a positive and practical solution to the concern that: ‘young people experience greater, more persistent and increased unemployment from recessions.’ (Coast to Capital Skills Report, 2020).
Careers Beyond Covid will help young people enter or re-enter the workforce through a targeted and individualised programme which includes having one to one support from highly qualified careers advisors, access to employability workshops and opportunities to gain virtual and real-world work experiences. The programme will also work with employers to ensure that they are ready to recruit one or more of our participants, and it will provide additional support through peer mentoring, support for health and wellbeing and work-based coaching.
Careers Beyond Covid will run until the end of 2023 and will support participants from across the Coast to Capital area. The programme is being delivered by Elev8Careers and managed by Sussex Learning Network.

The project is receiving up to £576,739.00 of funding from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions (and in London the intermediate body Greater London Authority) is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme.
