October half-term is renowned as one of the holidays that is most challenging to fill, but it doesn’t have to be that way! This half term, Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GB Met) is coming to the rescue with a free four-day art, design and making workshop for 16-25 year olds…
GB Met has a tradition of offering lots of exciting opportunities for young people to get a taste of creative careers and courses, and this half term sees that tradition continued. Local artist and illustrator, Nadia Chalk will be running a free four-day art, design and making workshop from 26th - 29th October, at Northbrook MET’s West Durrington Campus.
During the course, which will run from 10am to 3pm each day, students will have the opportunity to learn and try out different design and making techniques. They will also have the chance to see their work displayed locally in Worthing and to use their work towards securing a ‘Future Creators’ digital badge. Future Creators digital badges give learners a well regarded new currency to showcase their creative talents beyond exam results.
Funded by Uni Connect, the free 'Creative Connections' course is open to all but places will be given firstly to Uni Connect priority students including care leavers and those from BAME backgrounds or priority postcodes.
