We’re on the lookout for more volunteers to join our brilliant community of Parent2Parent volunteers so that we can ensure those supporting young people through life-changing choices are receiving accessible, friendly advice…
It’s widely recognised that parents and carers play a hugely influential role when guiding young people through higher education choices and career pathways. But it can be a tricky journey to negotiate when the world of post-16 and post-18 education is increasingly complex both in terms of choice of qualifications and funding.
That’s why we’ve set up a dedicated community of parents and carers to support other parents through this tricky but important time in their child’s life. Each of our volunteers has recently guided their own child or children through GCSE, BTEC, A-level, university or apprenticeship choices, so is drawing on recent personal experience.
Our volunteers each receive full training and regular supervision and are on hand at physical and virtual open evenings, webinars and community events to give friendly, impartial advice to other parents and carers on everything form day-to-day student life, funding options and how to apply for courses or apprenticeship places.
Volunteers also play a vital role in signposting the wealth of free resources of available and sometimes even feature in our popular Parent videos.
