National Care Leavers month – new resources for teachers

November is National Care Leavers’ month and the national charity, Become, have released new training resources: 'Teachers Who Care'. 

The resources include a short film and free training pack to help every teacher, teaching assistant, caretaker, and school leader create classrooms where care-experienced children feel safe, seen and supported.  Watch and share their film ‘be the teacher who makes a difference’.

The resources were created in collaboration with care-experienced young people and aim to provide tools and tips to make a difference to the lives of the students in our communities.   

On their Teachers Who Care webpage, you'll find the free downloadable training pack that can be used in INSET to build awareness across schools and colleges, and details of further training available from Become. The latter includes  Educating With Empathy  a course Become have delivered for students on University teacher training courses and can be delivered for early career teachers.
