Moved during exams
The charity Become have published their new research showing shocking number of children in care are being moved during exams. Their report uses findings from Freedom of Information requests to all tier-one local authorities for the 2023/2024 academic year and shows an alarming level of disruption during exam period, when stability should be non-negotiable. Over 15,000 children in care (34%) moved homes during years 10-13 while more than 5000 (12%) ha to change schools. 1279 (13%) children were relocated during their GCSE exam period and 4077 (30% were moved or had to leave care during their A-Level exam period.
