University unpacked for parents and carers
The brand new Parents’ Guide to University 2025 is now available. The resource is designed to help adults who support young people in making informed choice about university. It includes articles to guide them in deciding whether university is right for them, what they should study, and where they should study it.
Contributions have been provided by over 75 university representatives from across the UK and the guide includes clear, impartial information on areas including the new UCAS personal statement format, tuition fees and practical advice for exploring universities during the cost-of-living crisis. The guide is divided into sections including researching options, attending events, financing studies, applying, and preparing for university life.
This year, mindful of the cost-of-living crisis there is input from Martin Lewis of MoneySavingExpert with several articles designed to help with financial difficulty such as exploring universities on a budget, secure "free money" to fund the student experience, manage finances at university, secure a part-time job, and options like studying online.
