Get ready for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month in June
Every June since 2008, people from across the UK have celebrated Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. Through celebration, education and raising awareness, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month helps to tackle prejudice, change the story, and amplify the voices of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in wider society.
Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT) have a comprehensive selection of resources they’ve put together over the years to support schools and colleges to get involved and celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Heritage month. FFT’s theme for 2025 is Gypsy, Roma and Traveller 'Heroes' Month: "Who inspires you?". You can use this theme by asking your community to put forward their suggestions to celebrate the incredible people who make up Romany Gypsy, Roma, Irish Traveller, New Traveller Showmen, and Liveaboard Boater communities.
