New resources for learners thinking of taking a break from education
Uni Connect, Study Higher, has developed a resource for students who are unsure about their next steps post-18 and are considering taking a break from education. It has chapters designed to help them consider their options including employment, volunteering and travelling as well as information about HE pathways to consider at a later stage.
People can take a break at various stages of their education. This guide specifically focuses on breaks after Level 3 before progressing onto HE or work. Many young people choose to take a break at this time and it can be an opportunity to take some time off from education, explore personal interests or gain some work and life experience. It can be a lot of pressure to decide what your whole life is going to look like, but the message of this guide is that you don’t have to do that. You can enjoy what you do in the moment but change your mind later down the line. Plus, a career or job doesn’t have to define you: many other things make up a person!
