Free music mentoring for 12-17s at risk of youth violence
AudioActive was set up in 1999 by a small team of music heads and youth workers with the simple aim of giving local young people the chance to access and create music, the organisation grew and grew, resulting in a unique community of artists and young people across Sussex. Their Shift programme currently has places for more young people. The programme is for 12-17 year olds who are at risk of serious youth violence or at risk of experiencing or becoming perpetrators of youth crime. The young people are allocated a music mentor to build a trusted relationship and support them on the programme. You can find out all about the programme in this video and find out more about Audio Active here.
