Ongoing OfS support confirmed for Uni Connect
We are delighted that, following a long period of consultation, we have just received news from the Office for Student that the Uni Connect programme will continue to be supported with a £40 million budget across England.
The Office for Student announcement concludes a period of consultation on recurrent funds for 2021-2022. While the newly confirmed budget represents a £20 million reduction from previous years and will inevitably impact what can be supported through the next academic year, we have been working closely with partners, in anticipation of this announcement, to ensure we can continue to maintain and deliver those programmes that have been most engaging and beneficial to learners across Sussex.
Sarah Williams, Director of SLN comments: “During a period of unprecedented uncertainty it is testimony to the value of the work that we collectively deliver with so many committed partners that a substantial budget – albeit reduced – has been secured. We are looking forward to working with partners to ensure we can make those funds work as hard as possible for learners across Sussex – enabling thousands of students to look forward to bright futures.”
SLN is planning a Project Exchange early in the new academic year where plans for the coming months will be readily available to partners, schools, colleges and youth groups. Further details of the recent announcement regarding Uni Connect’s future can be found in the Office for Students paper here.
