Celebrate LGBT+ History Month 2025 with Schools OUT
Schools OUT, an LGBT+ education charity, founded UK LGBT+ History Month with the belief that every LGBT+ person should feel safe, seen and thrive in education and beyond. Through education and advocacy, the charity empower people in all learning settings to create environments where all LGBT+ people feel safe, seen, and supported. They promote a whole school/organisation approach, increasing the visibility of LGBT+ History and people in all our diversity.
Each year five LGBT+ historical figures are selected to highlight and provide free resources to education settings, organisations, and businesses. The 2025 LGBT+ Historical Figures are:
- Octavia Hill
- Ivor Cummings
- Annie Kenney
- Charlie Kiss
- Olaudah Equiano
