Gatwick Airport Community Trust – funding now open
The Gatwick Airport Community Trust is an independent charity that awards grants annually for projects within areas directly affected by operations at Gatwick Airport. The fund is currently open.
The Trust will support the following priority categories:
- Development of young people
- Art projects including amateur drama, music, art
- Sporting facilities
- Environmental improvement and conservation
- Improvements to community facilities such as village halls
- Support for the disabled
- Support for the elderly
- Encouragement of additional volunteering or giving in the area
The Trust may consider grant applications from school PTAs, projects must be over and above the school’s core activities which are the responsibility of the Local Education Authority or Academy Trust.
The benefit from projects must fall wholly or largely within the area of benefit which covers parts of East and West Sussex, Surrey and Kent. The objects of the Trust also stipulate that particular attention should be given to projects that provide benefits to those people in areas most directly affected by airport operations. The normal level of grant is from £1,000 to £5,000.
