Helping Year 12s begin to prepare for their next steps
Year 12s may not be leaving school or college this summer but Year 13 comes around very quickly! We know you’ll be supporting learners with next steps already so to help you and your colleagues we’ve pulled together a range of resources to share with your learners and their parents and carers.
Get Career Confident
- We have a whole range of videos for Year 12s on our website which you can access here. We also have videos on researching and planning careers for any learners looking for inspiration on their futures at this link.
- Workshops in School and College - if you’d like to book a Get Career Confident workshop for your learners, we can provide an hour-long session on the theme you’re after, which will be packed full of information and practical advice bringing the issues to life pointers and useful, tried and tested resources. Some universities offer financial support with travel expenses to get to open days so remind your learners to ask each university they plan to visit.
Contextual offers
As learners start looking at universities it might be worthwhile updating yourself on contextual offers and finding out if this would be applicable to any of your learners. Contextual offers are to recognise that some learners face additional challenges during their education which may impact their results. Universities recognise these challenges, and can make adjustments through ‘contextual admissions’.
