ESCC and the Youth Cabinet hosting a Climate Change Summit
To support education settings in reaching net zero by 2050, East Sussex County Council and the Youth Cabinet are hosting a Climate Change Summit - Our Chance to Change, for Sustainability Leadership and Young People. The summit will take places on 25th January 2024 at the Welcome Building in Eastbourne.
The summit will give participants space to develop their school’s climate action plan by hearing about current best practice. The Summit will also discuss the implications of the DfEs Sustainability and Climate strategy for education. A range of interactive workshops will be held during the day for adults and young people. Those include making best use of what schools have and developing a pipeline approach for successful funding bids.
Sustainability Leads, Senior Leadership, Teachers, Estate Managers and Governors are invited to attend the all day event (two places are allocated to each school/college). The 70 children and young people who have contributed to our Climate Change Strategy for Education Setting will also be invited.
