The University of Sussex Year 10 Summer School

The University of Sussex Year 10 Summer School will be running between Tuesday 4th July and Thursday 6th July this year, and provides a chance for young people to experience what it is like to be a University student. Over the three days they are with us, students will:

  • Experience a taster of University learning across a diverse variety of academic subjects. Woven into this will be engaging sessions providing advice on studying techniques, and basic stress management tips.
  • An insight into social activities students get involved in on campus, including options for sports evenings, film nights, and a quiz night in a Student Union venue.
  • Learning about the practicalities of living and studying on campus from our fantastic student ambassadors, alongside an ambassador networking session.
  • An opportunity to meet other young people in the local area, forging new connections and friendships.

Applications are open to all of your Year 10 students who meet our Widening Participation criteria. If you are unfamiliar with these criteria, they can be found by following this link. The Summer School is free of charge and includes accommodation, travel, and food for all dates. The deadline for applications will fall on 9th June 2023 at 09:00.

There is no limit to the number of students who can apply from your institution, however be aware we will look to ensure places are distributed fairly across all invited schools, to ensure all students attending have the best possible experience.
