Help your students plan for exciting futures
National Careers Week (6-11 March) is fast approaching providing the perfect opportunity to get the young people you support excited about future options. But with so many pathways to explore, where should you start? Read on to discover a perfect starting point…
When you haven’t had to consider your own employment or education options for years, and when things have changed considerably since you did, it can be difficult to know where to start when you’re trying to inspire young people on their careers options!
But, we’re here to help. Our Get Career Confident website provides the perfect starting platform for teachers and parents to explore with young people and offers a wealth of free information, advice and videos that you can use to inform and inspire.
All of the resources have been designed so that they can be used independently by young people or can be used as the basis for careers sessions or lessons. They’re also ideal resources to point parents to during National Careers Week.
On the website you and the young people you’re supporting can:
· Be inspired by a wide range of different careers in our ‘See To Be’ videos
· Discover how to choose GCSE options that will keep careers options open
· Find out the kinds of questions that are useful to ask at careers fairs
· Discover how to find apprenticeship positions and how to make applications
· Be taken through how to write a CV that stands out in the crowd
· Find out how to make a great impression at interviews
· Get one-to-one careers support by talking with one of our friendly careers advisors using our Live Chat facility which you can link to from any page of the Get Career Confident site
