Care leavers University Visit Day – 22 February
This event is open to care leavers in Years 12 and 13 and those who have left college but want to know more about Higher Education, as well as social workers.
The morning session (10am to 12.30pm) at the University of Sussex features a finance workshop (covering any specific Sussex funding), information on student life (from care-experienced ambassadors, where possible), a tour of the campus and student accommodation.
After lunch (12.30pm to 1.30pm, provided by the University of Brighton) and travel to that campus (which can be arranged through train or bus warrants), the afternoon session (1.30pm to 4pm) offers a personal statement workshop, information on any specific Brighton funding as well as on student life (with care-experienced ambassadors, where possible) and a look at student accommodation.
