Seven simple ways to bring apprenticeships to life during National Apprenticeship Week  

It’s National Apprenticeship Week from 6-12 Feb, creating the perfect opportunity to get students thinking about this valuable progression pathway…

But with so many resources available and confusion still existing around how to access this pathway and understand if it’s the right fit, where’s the best place to start?  Below we’ve simplified things by bringing together seven quick and easy ways to make your apprenticeships careers content more engaging, informative and useful for young people:

  1. Check out our Get Career Confident site as a springboard for discussion. Here’s you’ll find a raft of useful How To videos that explain how to find and apply for apprenticeships.
  2. Inspire young people about the benefits of this route and challenge some of their misconceptions by hearing current apprentices talking about their own experiences in our See To Be videos.
  3. Help break down confusion around this progression pathway by heading over to the UCAS website where they have a useful explanation of the our different types of apprenticeships available.
  4. If you know young people already committed to the apprenticeship route head over to our directory of apprenticeships and traineeships  to discover positions currently available throughout Sussex.
  5. Encourage young people to search through even more live training and apprenticeship opportunities on the Apprenticeships in Sussex site.
  6. If you know young people who are wanting to broaden their search, they can discover directories of nation-wide apprenticeship opportunities on the official government apprenticeships’ website.
  7. Finally, check out the BBC Bitesize Careers site where you’ll find quizzes, videos and career profiles to inspire young people during National Apprenticeship Week.
