Recognition for SLN student researcher project
The student researcher project which Sussex Learning Network’s further education team contributed to has received recognition in a British Educational Research Association article.
In 2021–2022, a Uni Connect partnership of Humberside Outreach Programme, Inspiring Choices and SLN set up a pilot led by an evaluation team at Lincoln University. The pilot, run in four secondary schools and a college, focused on setting up and running student researcher groups composed of secondary school and A-level college students who evaluate outreach activities delivered by universities across England. The project aimed to encourage student voice, enhance student engagement, and improve the quality and impact of outreach delivery through peer feedback. This collaboration resulted in the production of the Making Student Voices Heard resources, which include guides to running these groups in both schools and colleges and can be downloaded here.
