Green careers directory gets the green light
The SLN has collaborated with - East Sussex College Group collaboration to provide careers expertise for those interested in working for green organisations. Resources include an online resource, the Greener Careers Sussex Directory and sector specific LMI.
Aimed at careers advisors and at students seeking courses that lead to a green career, the directory can be found on the Get Career Confident website. Organised by qualification level and can be filtered by sectors set out by the Green Jobs Taskforce – Power, Business & Industry, Homes & Buildings, Transport, Natural Resources, Enabling Decarbonisation and Climate Adaptation – the directory provides details of all available courses in Sussex that link to green careers or jobs that support the UK's net-zero emissions target and other environmental goals.
‘This directory is a welcome addition to our existing careers resources,’ says Charlie Field, Get Career Confident’s Project Manager. ‘With the government’s aim to support two million green jobs in the UK by 2030, it will point people towards courses that address the green skills gaps and help build career pathways into good green careers in Sussex and around the country.’
