Brand new programme offers support to young people seeking employment in a tough climate
According to the Social Policy Association, young people have suffered particularly badly in the pandemic employment crisis, with workers under the age of 25 representing 60% of the fall in employment since Feb 2020.
But now, our new pan-Sussex ‘Careers Beyond Covid’ programme is offering young people free, joined up support to help them overcome employment barriers and secure interesting work opportunities. And the holistic support programme is going to be working with employers too, helping them attract and retain young talent across the region.
Young people who are struggling to break into the employment market, or who are about to finish their education can register their interest in our programme of support here.
Every young person who qualifies will automatically get free access to our network of careers advisors and mental health coaches who will help them:
- Discover their interests, strengths and potential roles that match
- Address any barriers holding them back
- Develop their employability skills through a targeted range of activities
- Identify suitable organisations and roles
- Craft strong applications
