We are recruiting in East Sussex:

Go Further Liaison Coach (East Sussex College Group)

Salary: £24,330 – £25,311 p.a.
Location: Station Plaza, Hastings
Job Type: 37 hours per week
Category: Support (Fixed Term)
Closing Date: 15/11/2019
Reference: 0000003838

Full time, fixed term contract to July 2020.

Here at East Sussex College Group we understand that for some young people, moving on to Higher Education is a challenge.

As a coach on the ‘Go Further’ programme, you will help identify and address issues and barriers for young people progressing into Higher Education and Higher Apprenticeships.  This is a particular focus in areas such as Hastings where overall progression is low.

You’ll be delivering a coaching programme which might include group or 121 sessions with our students, raising their aspirations, helping them transition successfully on to their new courses and signposting onto other sources of support, advice and guidance.

Based in our Hastings campus, you’ll liaise with colleagues across the East Sussex College Group at our sites in Eastbourne and Lewes so the ability to travel between sites on occasion will be needed.

With great English and Maths skills (Level 2 as a minimum) you’ll also have a Level 6 CEIAG qualifications or be willing to work towards this.

Drawing on your previous experience of supporting students in FE in a safe, respectful and appropriate manner, you’ll bring a coaching approach to your work with young people, building trusting relationships to enable them to fulfil their potential.

Our Hastings campus is right next to the train station so we’re closer than you think, with easy and quick access across Sussex, Kent and even London.

This post is subject to a DBS check.

Closing date: 15th November 2019.
