‘Building a Britain fit for the future’

The Industrial Strategy, now a white paper sets out the five foundations (Ideas, People, Infrastructure, Business Environment and Places) that will boost economic growth and productivity in a post-Brexit nation.

Local versions of the Industrial Strategy are being developed in-line with regional need, with LEPs (Local Enterprise Partnerships) driving forward localised plans that align with regional economic need, addressing skills-shortages and priority growth areas.

Skills and Education will play a vital role in realising the Industrial Strategy with Universities sitting at the heart of local plans, ensuring that provision is aligned to industry standards and that employers can access a skilled workforce as well as contributing to the social mobility agenda.
