Managing Anxiety

Supporting families to deal with mental health issues

Working with Holding Space, a not-for-profit community mental health organisation, and developed in partnership with voluntary agency 3VA, this Sussex-wide project aims to support parents of seven- to 13-year olds to develop skills to manage their and their children’s anxiety, which is on the increase due to Covid-19. Families can self-refer or referrals can be made through schools, colleges or other organisations for the free six-week programme led by an experienced trainer and therapist. Alongside this parental programme, SLN has commissioned Holding Space to deliver low-cost confidential counselling for seven to 16-year olds across the region, as well as one-to-one phone support with a trained facilitator or counsellor.
