The TEF (Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework) aims to recognise and reward excellence in teaching, learning and outcomes, and to help inform prospective student choice. It was introduced by Government in 2016 as a trial and taking part is currently a voluntary choice for higher education providers.
The first round of results were published in June 2017 with the Silver outcome being awarded to our three Universities (Brighton, Chichester and Sussex).
The Department for Education (DfE) is now inviting responses to a technical consultation to inform the development of the TEF at subject level. It is keen to hear from higher education providers, students, employers and others with an interest in learning, teaching and student information. The consultation will close on 21 May 2018.
