Local data sources
- Brighton & Hove City Stats is an interactive website with searchable statistics on the social, economic and demographic character of Brighton & Hove.
- East Sussex in Figures is an interactive website with searchable statistics on the social, economic and demographic character of East Sussex.
- West Sussex County Council economic information pages show facts and figures about the West Sussex economy derived from public sources of data.
Regional and local data sources
- The South East England Intelligence Network (SEE-iN) is the Regional Observatory for the South East (one of the eight regional observatories covering England).
- Data for Neighbourhood Renewal provides a comprehensive list of data sources and information on geographical coverage and provides an update on the latest release of data. The resource covers datasets relating to: Population, Deprivation. Employment. Education. Health. Housing. Crime and Liveabilit.
National data sources
The following websites provide access to a range of data at a national, regional and local level.
- Office of National Statistics (ONS) is a UK Government Agency that produces and disseminates social, health, economic, demographic, labour market and business statistics.
- Neighbourhood Statistics (NeSS) is a governemnt website providing range of local area information.
- National Online Manpower Information System (NOMIS) provides data on labour market profiles, population data and related national statistics.
- The SSDA Sector Skills Matrix is a source of sectoral labour market and skills information for the UK. It uses official data sources to provide comparable data for 27 industry categories and 14 more aggregate sector groupings. It also provides the same range of data for Sector Skills Councils (SSCs). The Sector Skill Almanac for the UK 2007. - Working Futures 2004-2014 provides details of employment
projections for the UK. It focuses upon the future patterns of demand for skills as measured by occupation. Data is available at a National (UK) level and by sector or regional location. - Economic and Social Data Service Nesstar Catalogue provides an online tool giving access to a broad range of current and historical data.
- DFES In your area website provides statistics on adult education, post-16 and HE enrolments at a local authority, district and ward level.
- Audit Commison - area profiles website provides contextual and performance data about the quality of life and services in a local area, residents' and service users' views on the quality of life and local service and inspectorate judgements about local services.
- National Employer Skills Survey (NESS) provides detailed information on the incidence, extent and nature of skills problems facing employers, in terms of both recruitment and skill gaps within their existing workforce. It also explores employers’ activities and expenditure in relation to training.
- Health Needs Mapping provides information about key health issues in an area.
- GuideStar UK provides information about Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) organisations in an area.
