Latest news

The Bioscience team are catering for the whole spectrum of lifelong learners with the events being held in the forthcoming months.

Taster Sessions

Two taster sessions for year six pupils are now being held due to overwhelming demand from local primary schools. The taster morning will be based around a ‘crime scene investigation’ with learners getting the opportunity to look at different forensic tests that are done to help solve crimes.

A taster is also being held for vocational FE students who are thinking of progressing to HE and this event will give them an experience of working in a laboratory at the University and a chance to tour the bioscience facilities at the University of Brighton.

Student Conference

Bioscience undergraduates on Foundation Degree and BSc courses and postgraduates are going to be taking part in a student conference, being held in Brighton on Monday 9th June. This will give final year students an opportunity to present their work either orally or as a poster with cash prizes for the best in each category.

There is also a field course being held in July aimed at those looking for CPD at both level 6 and 7. An intensive course, run at Plumpton College and the University of Brighton this will include both practical field skills and work in the laboratories. Successful completion of assignments will give credit at level 6 or 7.
