The Sussex Learning Network's contribution to the development and dissemination of knowledge and understanding of Foundation degrees

As part of its staff development programme between 2006 and 2008 the Sussex Learning Network team planned and held a number of successful events that enabled all those in Sussex with an interest in Foundation Degrees to meet and exchange ideas.  If you are interested in finding out about what we did, please follow the links below. 

Annual events

Twilight seminars

To carry forward further debate on key issues identified we organised five twilight seminars.  15 May 2008

  • Work based learning and Foundation degrees: what works and what doesn't?
    Presenter: Frank Lyons, Director, Foundation Direct, University of Portsmouth.
  • Putting the learner at the centre: credit frameworks and Foundation degrees in Sussex
    Presenter: Sue Cundell Surrey Economic Partnership, and with SEEC.
  • Supporting Foundation degree students: lessons from FE and HE
    Presenters: Mark Price, School of Education, University of Brighton and Becky Taylor, Plumpton College.
  • Foundation degrees: Sussex's best kept secret?
    Presenter: Rachel Papworth, Principal Consultant, Papworth Research and Consultancy.
  • Engaging employers in Foundation degrees
