Claire Grover - Year 1, DipHE Youth and Community Work

Before I came to the University of Chichester, I attended an Access course as I did not have the right qualifications for university ... that took me a year. The year before that I was at college studying psychology. The course I'm doing now fits in very well with my home life, as I have two children and I'm a single parent.
I chose Chichester because I liked the feel of the place when I came to an open evening. All the tutors were helpful and friendly. I was also accepted at another university for the same course, and after looking into the content of both I decided that Chichester seemed more structured and relevant to what I wanted to achieve.
My aim after university is to continue to work with young people and give them a chance to reach their full potential. I'm not sure which area I would prefer to work in yet, as I have only just completed my first year. I'm looking forward to getting more experience of working with different agencies to help me make that decision.
