Study choices

Did you know?

  • You don't have to go away to university to study for a degree.
  • You can start degree level study with or without A levels.
  • There are special admissions arrangements for people who study in Sussex - use Sussexroutes to find out if your experience and/or qualifications make you eligible for an interview or an offer of a place.
  • Foundation degrees, HNDs and HNCs are work-related courses that are offered at colleges and universities across Sussex. You can work and learn at the same time - search Foundation Degrees in Sussex by subject or place to find out what's on offer near you.
  • For all other degrees, there's a course search on the UCAS website.
  • You can get back to study and prepare for higher education by doing an Open University Openings short, 20 week course, or an Access to Higher Education course.

About Sussexroutes

Whilst school leavers generally need qualifications at level 3 to enter higher education, entry requirements to higher education are different for mature students. Relevant work experience or evidence of recent study may be enough.

In addition to this, there are special admissions arrangements for people who live, work or study in Sussex. Go to Sussexroutes and select a subject area to find out about opportunities for you.
