1. Range of careers

These include, buying, marketing, merchandising, hotel management, hospitality, operations manager, senior management positions for hotels/hospitality companies so higher level skills are important and valued.

Service industry jobs dominate in East Sussex - in 2005, 86% of jobs in the county were in the service sector. There are a high number of small businesses in East Sussex - nearly three-quarters of businesses employ fewer than five people, while 87% of local companies employ 10 or fewer employees.

2. Entry level qualifications
