"What can I do to prepare for my course?"
There are various things you can do to prepare for study, especially if it is a long time since you last sat in a classroom. You could take a short course at your local adult education centre, or an Open University Openings course - this would help you get your brain in gear.
If you have difficulties with reading or spelling, or with numbers and maths, there are courses available through adult education.
If you need to use a computer on your course, first try one of the short courses available through adult education, or you might consider taking an ECDL (European computer driving licence course). The ECDL is available through adult education and LearnDirect, and some employers, for example the NHS, make it available to their employees.
