Work-based top-up pilot project

An initial study identified clear support from current and past students and employers in Sussex for a work-based route to 'top up' a foundation degree or HND to honours degree. As a result, the SLN Board identified further funding to enable the development of a pilot. The aim of the pilot was to test a number of issues involved in establishing work-based learning and look at the wider role of work-based learning across the curriculum.

The year long pilot study linked to work in three of the existing SLN curriculum strands and the final report features three very different approaches and case studies, while illuminating some of the issues which providers need to consider when developing work-based learning programmes.
