We are looking to appoint a new Director and deputy Director to the Sussex Learning Network (SLN).

The SLN was one of the first Lifelong Learning Networks (LLNS) to be funded in September 2005. Led by the University of Brighton it is a partnership of four universities and seven colleges. It is now looking for two experienced managers to lead the next phase of its development to 2012. The main focus will be to establish and successfully deliver the newly HEFCE funded Centre for Work and Learning which will be the focus for workforce development and employer engagement between further and higher education. In addition there is oversight of the separately funded Learning at Work Information Service in the South East. This project is supported by four LLNs, the LSC and SEEDA and runs to 2010.

Director

From £46,278 to £53,650 per annum

This post will give overall leadership to the SLN under the guidance of the SLN Board. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to manage a complex project whose success will depend on your ability to get the best from a wide range of staff working in partner institutions and other agencies supporting business facing activity. Deputy Director

From £38,757 to £44,930 per annum

The deputy post requires someone who has both experience of work related curriculum development and a fully developed understanding of credit transfer and progression to higher education. Funding for both posts is for three years and secondments will be welcomed. Ref: EG5004
