The sky is the limit for our new CWL development projects

21 Jul 2011

RAF officer training accreditation is just one of five new development projects commissioned by CWL.

The Centre for Work and Learning has committed funding to support five new development projects across Sussex and is currently negotiating with a further three project teams whose proposals were unsuccessful in the first round.

Our £75,000 CWL Project Development Fund received bids totalling £85,000, representing projects with a total value of over £320,000.

Commissioned projects range from the development of work-based sustainable refurbishment CPD for building designers and contractors, through research looking at the value to employers of HE level engineering courses, to the aforementioned accreditation of the Royal Air Force Officer Training Programme.

Said Viki Faulkner, Sussex Learning Network Director

"We have had a wonderful response to the call for development projects under our new strand of work: ‘enhancing and enriching workforce development’ It has been fantastic to see the range of activities our partners are undertaking with local employers and we are very pleased to be able to support some truely innovative new developments."

Although the Call for development proposals is now closed, there is still a small amount of funding available to support work with employers to identify and demonstrate a return on investment).
