Sussex Downs College wins Beacon Edge Award

On 23 November, Sussex Downs College Multimedia teaching team won the 2006-07 Association of Colleges Beacon Award for Practical Teaching and Practical Learning.

The award was given out at a conference in Birmingham held in Symphony Hall and presented by Myra Syal. The Edge Award represents the culmination of a lot of hard work for the teaching team and the next stage in the public reception and recognition of Choice TV (a DVD available to help in training colleagues in the areas of disability and discrimination).

In addition to this prestigious award, Sussex Downs came very close to winning another award, being ‘Highly Commended' in the "14-19 Collaboration" category, an award sponsored by the Learning and Skills Council.
