Personalised learning plans in LLNs
8 Jun 2007
HEFCE funds a number of Lifelong Learning Networks (LLNs) across the country, made up of higher and further education institutions and other regional partners. The networks' main aim is to improve the coherence, clarity and certainty of progression opportunities for vocational learners into and through higher education. Personalised learning plans (or individualised learning plans as they were originally termed) were seen as a key way for networks to focus on the needs of the learner.
This report presents the outcomes of a study designed to help LLNs to develop good practice in personalised learning plans. It identifies current practice in the use of such plans in vocational areas aimed at supporting effective learning and progression. It also makes recommendations to HEFCE and to individual LLNs.
