New Adult Advancement and Careers Service
9 Sep 2008

New arrangements are being put in place for the transfer of learndirect careers advice services into the LSC. The transfer is in readiness for the establishment of the Adult Advancement and Careers Service (AACS) within the Skills Funding Agency, announced earlier this year. DIUS have announced that throughout this change process they are 'committed to ensuring business as usual for clients.’
The main points are:
- the word 'learndirect' will be dropped from the marketing of careers advice and from the website address. The marketing will retain the jigsaw appearance and the look and feel of the existing services
- the website address will be www.direct.gov.uk/careersadvice
- the target date for completing the 'debranding' is 8 September 2008, with a marketing campaign due to start in England on 9 September using the existing telephone number and the new website address
- the long term goal is that the AACS web service will be integrated into the Directgov website www.direct.gov.uk
