Learn to start and grow a business
16 Jan 2012

The Enterprise Opportunities service offers
- New resources to encourage and support people interested in starting or growing their business in the Gatwick Diamond area.
- Local and national material gathered together in one place on one website.
- Supported by 1:1 support from a university business expert.
West Sussex County Council have funded these new web resources which now form part of the already established Learning Opportunities in the South East Service. In addition, the University of Brighton is providing 1:1 access to a university business expert. These resources reduce complexity by focusing on the key points and processes of starting a new business and they complement new national resources such as Start up Britain.
- Getting going – being inspired; looking at the potential of an idea; information about workshops, training and mentoring; forming an organisation
- Finance and funding – setting up a bank account; funding; looking after your money; business acceleration and growth
- Rules and regulations – registering a company, tax, VAT, self-employment etc.
- Growing your business – using the expertise of local universities; networking; getting the word out with sales, marketing and advertising
These resources will be updated and extended to take account of feedback and as more local resources become available. For more information: maureenhaywood@workandlearning.co.uk
