How to reach out to business
22 Jun 2011
32 lecturers and marketing staff from over 15 organisations across Sussex attended a fascinating and highly practical seminar on Reaching Out to Business on 9 June 2011.
Nick Handley of Strategic Marketing gave an introduction on the principles of marketing to businesses. His presentation focussed on the importance of maintaining an awaresness of the competitive environment, and of understanding the current and future needs of business when targetting marketing at them.
Nick went on to look specifically at producing stronger messages about training and development, and explained how to ensure that communication is kept clear and effective
In the second half of the session, Beverley Bennington, Workforce Development Programme Manager at Oxford Brookes University, explained the thinking behind Oxford Brookes' workforce development programme - what they had chosen to include, what they've found to work.
Beverley discussed their use of CRM systems to support their marketing strategy, and went on to look more closely at their experience of using telemarketing.
The session received high praise from delegates, with many expressing enthusiasm at integrating what they had learnt into their marketing activities.
