Higher Education - the return on investment

What is the return on investment for business when it engages with HE? In a highly successful example of collaboration between UoB and Sussex Coast College Hastings (SCCH), local employers whose staff recently completed the Foundation degree in Engineering at SCCH were asked that very question.

The new research published by SCCH in partnership with the Centre for Work and Learning brought the expertise of  Paul Levy of CENTRIM to bear on the problem of assessing the value of HE to employers. The result was a straightforward yet sophisticated methodology which has produced concrete conclusions that are shaping the way forward for SCCH’s engineering provision.

Given the simplicity of the methodology, and robust nature of the report’s conclusions, it is hoped that the report will act as template for further ROI research both within SCCH and UoB, and further afield, in the near future.
