Help us create an APEL guide for Sussex
11 Jul 2011
Sussex Learning Network's Centre for Work and Learning is commissioning the creation of a guide for practitioners in dealing with APEL and a best practice protocol. A consultant is sought to lead the process.
The Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is defined as "The process by which an individual learner can obtain academic credits for learning developed from experiences at work or in professional practice. The university assesses the learning by comparing it with similar learning that might have taken place on campus."
We are looking to appoint a consultant to facilitate the creation of a protocol and guide for HE practitioners in Sussex. The aim is to make APEL a more transparent and approachable option for potential learners, many of whom will be in work, and one that is easier and more consistent for HE practitioners to apply. Parties wishing to respond to this call should submit their response electronically to: Adam Stewart, Network Manager, Sussex Learning Network A.M.Stewart@brighton.ac.uk by the deadline of Midday Monday 25 July.
