4 Jun 2010

etechnologies and employer engagement event

Do you have an interest in employer responsive HE, business development, or curriculum development and delivery?

This Sussex Learning Network and Open University event will look at how e-technologies can help YOU to work faster, slicker and be more adaptable to the needs of learners and employers in today’s changing HE landscape.

Where and when

The event will take place at the Creativity Centre at the University of Brighton (Cockcroft Building, Moulscomb campus) from 11:00-15:30 on Thursday 1 July. Lunch will be available

Open Educational Resources

The director of the HEFCE funded Support Centre for Open Resources in Education (SCORE), Chris Pegler, will be joining us to talk about sourcing or creating free educational resources which can be used online or, often, downloaded and localised

Why Bother with blended learning?

Asher Rospigliosi and Sue Greener from the Business e-learning research group at Brighton Business School will be exploring the ingredients of blended learning, why it can be worthwhile in the workplace and what it has to offer.

Asher and Sue use a variety of approaches to blended and online learning with the university students who are learning business skills, and are happy to showcase the kinds of things they get up to – from Twitter learning to fully online rich mixes of activity to provoke reflection and engagement. If you are not sure what blended learning is all about, or whether it is for your staff and students, come and discuss the blend with us

Technologies

Nigel Gibson from the Open University in the South East will showcase a range of free tools to extend our reach in terms of contacting employers and supporting learning at and for work.
