I am a Unite Union Learning Representative (ULR) at the financial services company Legal & General (L & G). URLs are trained to give front-line advice and guidance to members on learning and training and to promote lifelong learning at the workplace.

I have worked at L&G for over twenty years and have been involved in union activities for over half that time. I am currently based at L & G’s City Park office in Hove.  My role includes promoting our Study Support policy, our Open Learning Centre, Financial Services qualifications, and other broader learning in the workplace. I am a keen learner myself and am halfway through an Open University degree in Social Sciences.

Amicus and the TGWU merged earlier this year to form Unite, and with several hundred Unite members in this office, there is always more to do to encourage lifelong learning!
